Ghost Carp Lake is set in six-and-a-half acres of privately-owned countryside. The main lake is some three-and-a-half acres; there is also a smaller lake measuring just over an acre. The lakes are set in beautiful, peaceful countryside, on private land well-away from any main roads. The location is well-kept, with mown grassland and paths, but maintains its natural appearance with plenty of trees, reeds and overhanging bushes - so it is a real haven for wildlife! Ghost Carp Lake is located in the beautiful and peaceful rural setting of the Loire valley, close to the Brittany border. The historical city of Vitré is close by, and the villages of St Pierre la Cour and La Bourgneuf la Forêt are even more convenient at just a few minutes' drive away - and have a supermarket, bars and good-value local restaurants (and a fishing-tackle shop!). Although on-site accommodation - in our well-equiped mobile home - is included in our price, guests can choose to stay locally in Vitré instead, where there are hotels to suit a range of budgets, including independent hotels and guest-houses in addition to well-known chains such as Ibis.
Getting Here
Ghost Carp Lake is situated to the east of Rennes: approximately one-and-a-half hours' drive south of St Malo, three hours from Le Havre and less than six hours' drive from Calais. 
Vitré is on a fast TGV train main-line, with regular direct trains to Rennes (30 mins), Le Mans (30 mins), and Paris (2 hours). Rennes International Airport is less than an hour away.
If you have your own car and are staying in Vitré or nearby, then one of us will be happy to meet you at your hotel the morning after you arrive, to lead the way by car. If you are travelling by public transport and staying at Ghost Carp Lake itself, then we will often be able to arrange to collect you from the train station.
